Oversee the nightly operations of our Pulmonary Stepdown Unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and caring to our patients. Partner closely with Patient Care Director, who will help mentor and guide you in your new leadership role.
Requirements
- At least two years of acute care RN experience in a stepdown unit (vent experience preferred)
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Current New York State RN license (or willingness to obtain)
- BCLS certification
Nice To Haves
- Master’s Degree in Nursing
- PCCN Certification
Responsibilities
- Establish short- and long-term goals for the unit
- Manage and evaluate staff
- Lead nightly huddles
- Support clinical decision-making
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate services
- Regularly assess unit operations (including patient flow and throughput) to identify room for improvement
- Lead initiatives focused on enhancing quality and performance throughout the unit
