About The Position

This position is responsible for the clinical management and coordination of the overall activities of the assigned site. It creates an environment that nurtures empowerment of team members, encourages the development of self-directed work teams, pursues and encourages continuous quality management and innovation, and improves the levels of communication, teamwork, participation, and acknowledgment between all staff. The goal is to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction. The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for the management and oversight of the daily clinical operations in a service line in one or more practice locations. Responsibilities include clinical leadership, clinical operations, patient and employee safety and satisfaction, quality care, fiscal management, and personnel management. This role partners and co-creates a dynamic and collaborative relationship with members of the triad – Chiefs of Service Line and Operations leaders and/or local administration leaders in service to exemplary patient care. Ensures the continuity and advancement of systems, care model critical success factors, and service standards. Supervises RNs and LPNs and assures that they are practicing in accordance with legal parameters, guidelines, and standards for clinical care. Ensures strict adherence to collective bargaining contracts across sites. Serves as a clinical nursing resource and clinical operations partner in the areas of quality improvement, regulatory compliance, safety, and professional development for their designated sites/service areas. Addresses patient and staff issues in collaboration with operational partners. This Clinical Nurse Manager II position is an administrative position with 1.0 administrative FTE, holds responsibilities over two or more sites or departments, and holds responsibility over an area of practice with a large number of direct reports or complex scope of clinical practice (high level disinfection, moderate sedation etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or currently enrolled in a BSN program and obtain the degree within one year of hire
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current License as an RN in the State of Massachusetts
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • 3+ years of demonstrated clinical experience and skill in relevant nursing area
  • 1+ years of leadership/charge nurse experience in a clinical setting
  • Experience in telephone nursing practice within an ambulatory practice setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in practice specialty or leadership with an expectation to sit for certification within 4 years of hire
  • 3+ years of leadership/charge nurse experience in a clinical setting
  • Management/leadership experience in a nursing collective bargaining environment
