City of Hope’s growing national system includes its Los Angeles campus, a network of clinical care locations across Southern California, a new cancer center in Orange County, California, and treatment facilities in Atlanta, Chicago and Phoenix. As a Clinical Nurse III in the ICU, you will play a vital role in guiding and coordinating care for a complex oncology patient population. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in alignment with Nursing Department policies and procedures. From comprehensive patient assessments and individualized care planning to implementing advanced treatment interventions, your clinical expertise will directly impact patient outcomes. Our ICU features an 8-bed unit with the flexibility to care for critically ill patients, offering a dynamic and engaging environment that supports professional growth and clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process and practice standards as a framework for the management of patient care.
  • Demonstrates the ability to utilize effective critical thinking skills.
  • Analyzes the assessment data to determine a nursing diagnosis and appropriate interventions.
  • Delegates to licensed and unlicensed personnel.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the clinical information system and applies principles to patient documentation.
  • Demonstrates the ability to integrate knowledge of job specific competencies.
  • Identifies, develops, and implements an action plan for self-development and professional growth that also includes peer review.
  • Serves as a mentor and role model to new staff members.
  • Integrates and practices according to the City of Hope Professional Practice Model to deliver care service excellence.
  • Carries out the nursing process, coordinates interdisciplinary care planning, documents according to standards, including validation of the patient and caregiver’s understanding of the plan of care and expected outcomes.
