About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) Medical Cardiology (D4N) in Albany, NY assesses, coordinates, plans, directs, implements, and manages the needs of assigned patients throughout their episode of care, focusing on progress toward discharge and transitions within the acute care stay. This role is responsible for the delivery and coordination of patient care provided by the caregiving team, ensuring competent and compassionate care is uniformly provided to customers in inpatient, ambulatory, and community settings.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Experience in Medical Cardiology
• Ability to assess, coordinate, plan, direct, implement, and manage patient needs
• Proficiency in implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, and performing treatments/procedures
• Skill in ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests
• Ability to assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care
• Sound nursing judgment
• Ability to provide primary and emergency care
• Familiarity with company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations regarding documentation

Nice To Haves

• Experience in D4N Medical Cardiology unit
• Experience with HIPAA Protected Health Information and other sensitive information

Responsibilities

• Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures and special tests, and documents treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
• Assesses and evaluates patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
• Applies sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
• Provides primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
• Administers over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
• Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
• Directs and guides ancillary personnel and maintains standards of professional nursing.
