UCI Health is a large academic health system in California, part of the University of California, Irvine. It includes multiple hospitals and a network of care centers. As Orange County's only academic health system, it features a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, a Level I adult and Level II pediatric trauma center, and a recognized burn center. UCI Health serves a large population across several counties through patient care, research, and medical education. The clinical nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for assigned patients. This role involves performing professional nursing duties that incorporate psychomotor and age-appropriate cognitive skills to assess, plan, intervene, and advocate for patients throughout their continuum of care. The nurse will evaluate patient outcomes, the effectiveness of the care plan, and readiness for discharge, revising the plan or making referrals as needed. Additionally, the nurse will act as a role model and mentor to students and new nurses, and may function as a Patient Care Coordinator as requested.
