About The Position

At NorthBay Health, the Clinical Nurse (RN) has the responsibility, accountability, and the authority to deliver safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care according to the philosophy and goals/objectives of the Department of Nursing. The RN, utilizing Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring Relationship Based Care, and NorthBay’s professional nursing practice model assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for all patients assigned to his/her care. The RN makes determinations regarding the progress of the patient toward goals and utilizes a therapeutic professional relationship with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health. Care is provided according to the specific physiologic, developmental and psychosocial needs of the patient. Supports the mission, vision, values and expectation of excellence of the organization.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing.
  • Nursing degree of BSN level or higher is required.
  • Valid, current and unencumbered RN license by the State of California.
  • Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS and ACLS required.
  • Minimum of 2 years required in an acute care or ASC setting within the last 5 years.
  • Competent in providing skilled registered nursing care to patients receiving sedation.
  • Skilled in arrhythmia interpretation.

Nice To Haves

  • Procedural Sedation Certification within 3 months
  • 5 years preferred experience in an acute care or ASC setting within the last 5 years
  • One year of Endoscopy nursing experience strongly desired

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients.
  • Make determinations regarding patient progress toward goals.
  • Utilize a therapeutic professional relationship with patients/families and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health.
  • Provide care according to the specific physiologic, developmental, and psychosocial needs of the patient.
  • Provide skilled registered nursing care to patients receiving sedation.
  • Modify and deliver care specific to the needs/behaviors of infant through geriatric patients within the scope of the perioperative department.
