About The Position

At NorthBay Health, a Registered Nurse on the Acute Care Unit provides safe, effective, quality, and excellent nursing care to patients, adhering to Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring, Relationship Based Care, and NorthBay’s professional nursing practice model. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The nurse will utilize therapeutic professional relationships with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to promote, maintain, and restore patient health.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing.
  • Nursing degree of BSN level or higher is required.
  • Valid, current and unencunmbered RN license by the State of California.
  • Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS and ACLS required.
  • Six months acute care RN experience required (One full year of skilled nursing care, Long Term Acute Care, or Acute Rehabilitation is equivalent to six months of acute care experience.)
  • Competent in providing skilled registered nursing care to Medical/Surgical/Tele level patients
  • Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of Medical/Surgical experience highly preferred.
  • National nursing certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care to patients following Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring, the Relationship Based Care, and the NorthBay’s professional nursing practice model.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for all patients assigned to your care.
  • Use a therapeutic professional relationship with the patient and their family along with your interdisciplinary team to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health for the patient.
