The Clinical Educator supports excellence in patient care by providing education, training, mentorship, and leadership to nursing staff within the Surgical Specialties unit. In partnership with the Clinical Nurse Manager, this role helps oversee daily unit operations while promoting evidence-based practice, regulatory compliance, and high-quality patient outcomes. Responsibilities include coordinating orientation for new team members, developing ongoing educational programs, facilitating skills training, and supporting competency development for nurses caring for complex surgical and trauma patients. The Clinical Educator serves as a clinical resource and coach, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities to enhance staff engagement and growth. This position also participates in quality improvement initiatives, evaluates clinical practices to identify opportunities for improvement, and helps implement protocols that promote patient safety and satisfaction. Working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and nursing leadership, the Clinical Educator fosters a culture of learning, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement while ensuring exceptional care for patients across the surgical continuum.
