About The Position

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse for their Cardiovascular (CVT) Stepdown Unit. This is a full-time position with 36 hours per week, involving three 12-hour shifts with rotations for weekends and holidays. The role requires nurses with at least 1 year of nursing experience. The Clinical Nurse is expected to uphold the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine (NM), adhering to ethical codes, compliance programs, and all relevant policies and standards. The registered professional clinical nurse (RN) is accountable for providing and coordinating competent, evidence-based care for an assigned patient group, encompassing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse also participates in decision-making, teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes and enhance unit operations, embodying the standards of an NMH nurse.

Requirements

1+ years of nursing experience.
Graduate of an NLN accredited school/college of nursing.
Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or higher.
Current State of Illinois, Registered Professional Nurse license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR through American Heart Association.
Analytic ability (conceptual and quantitative).
Oral, listening, and written communication skills.
Strong human relation skills to interact effectively and collaborate with others in difficult situations.
Use of a keyboard to enter or retrieve data.

Nice To Haves

Experience in specific clinical area (CVT Stepdown).
Nursing specialty certification, if eligible.
