About The Position

The Clinical Coordinator RN - Emergency Department position at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL is a full-time role requiring 36 hours per week on the night shift (2300-0700), with rotating weekends. This role involves providing clinical guidance and leadership to nursing staff, ensuring compliance with protocols and standards, and overseeing patient-centered care. The coordinator will collaborate with healthcare providers, lead quality improvement initiatives, manage unit resources, and ensure adherence to regulations and hospital policies. Additionally, they will facilitate ongoing education for staff, oversee documentation in the electronic health record, and coordinate with other departments to enhance the patient experience.

Requirements

  • BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Illinois.
  • Current CPR certification for basic life support provider through the American Heart Association.
  • At least 2 years Charge Nurse experience required in the ED.
  • 2 years scheduling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical guidance and leadership to nursing staff within the unit.
  • Ensure compliance with established clinical protocols, safety standards, and the delivery of high-quality care.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff.
  • Manage staff schedules, assignments, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Oversee the delivery of patient-centered care within the unit.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement care plans, address patient inquiries, and resolve concerns promptly.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives within the unit.
  • Participate in audits and compliance efforts, identify areas for enhancement, and implement corrective actions to improve patient outcomes.
  • Efficiently manage unit resources, including staffing, supplies, equipment, and budget allocation.
  • Monitor and control expenses while maintaining high care standards.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all state and federal regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures, within the unit.
  • Maintain a safe, sanitary, and compliant care environment.
  • Facilitate ongoing education and training for unit nursing staff to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in healthcare and clinical practices.
  • Oversee the accurate and comprehensive documentation of patient assessments, care plans, and interventions within the electronic health record system.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including physicians, care coordination teams, and ancillary services, to coordinate patient care and enhance the patient experience.
