About The Position

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator BMT & Cell Therapy position is an Inpatient Nurse Coordinator role within the Hematologic Malignancy Program (HMP) at Barnes Jewish Hospital. This role supports floor 10800, which is dedicated to Lymphoma and Multiple Myeloma patients. These patients are admitted for new diagnosis work-up, transplant or cellular therapy, planned chemotherapy regimens, or complications from transplant, CAR-t, or chemotherapy. The position is onsite at Barnes Jewish Hospital. The Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine is an international leader in cancer treatment, research, prevention, education and community outreach. The Outpatient Stem Cell Transplantation, Leukemia and Lymphoma team serves patients and families with hematologic malignancies. The clinical support crosses the patient care experience and facilitates continuity between the inpatient and outpatient environments. The program offers medical services and technologies that are state-of-the-art, while never losing sight of the importance of delivering one-on-one care.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma/Associate's - Nursing
  • 2-5 years experience
  • RN license

Nice To Haves

  • BSN Candidate is ideal
  • Care coordination and/or oncology experience preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree - Nursing
  • No Supervisor Experience

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the health care of select patient populations/designated service across the continuum of care.
  • Responsible for coordination of patient contact, patient education, prepares patient/family for procedure/test in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Facilitates patient care by assessing and evaluating patient's physical, psychosocial and emotional needs.
  • Coordinates the delivery of safe and appropriate patient care governed by evidence-based clinical practice.
  • Monitors care and data to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Facilitate the education of patients and families.
  • Acts as a resource to the health care team.
  • Ensures actions meet and support the overall goals of the business.
