The Clinical Nurse B-Inpatient provides, coordinates, and documents direct and indirect, age-specific, developmentally appropriate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. The nurse performs the nursing process—assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation—in accordance with LLUMC-Murrieta’s Professional Practice Model (Duffy’s Quality Caring Theory). The role applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice, embraces new knowledge and improvements, and continually expands clinical knowledge and skills with a focus on the specialty and patient population served. The nurse demonstrates professionalism and customer-service skills to support safe patient care, works in a skills-mix environment, and directly supervises and delegates tasks to licensed and unlicensed staff. The position may include participation in an on-call rotation based on department business needs and may involve serving as Shift Coordinator after completing the required orientation. Other duties may be assigned as needed. The role is in the Critical Care ICU Unit on a full-time day shift.
