The Clinical Nurse and Education Specialist role is a hybrid position within Cayuga Health, combining responsibilities as an education specialist and a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department. The Educator's primary function is to bolster the educational enrollment of nursing pipeline programs within the region by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating educational needs and initiatives with partnering schools. This includes delivering didactic, simulation, and clinical facilitation training for entry- and middle-level nursing pipeline stages. The role emphasizes providing person-centered care, upholding nursing education best practices, and fostering learner engagement. As an RN, the position involves direct patient and family support and care within the full scope of practice, including participation in program development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation for patients, families, and the community. The position requires strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills, acting as a resource for clinical practice and operational systems, and assisting in implementing patient care standards.
