About The Position

AICA Orthopedics is hiring a Float Medical Assistant across a zone of 2–3 metro Atlanta clinics. This role involves working with personal injury and orthopedic patients in a high-volume setting, focusing on acute needs rather than routine check-ups. The Medical Assistant will work alongside orthopedic physicians, PAs, and nurse practitioners. X-ray certification is a plus and will move the candidate toward the top of the pay range, with training provided if needed. The role requires adaptability across 2–3 assigned locations based on daily clinic needs, maintaining the same clinical standard at every site.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or Military Medical Specialist.
CMA, RMA, or equivalent — or actively working toward it.
EHR proficiency; NextGen preferred.
Reliable transportation — gas reimbursed for zone travel.
Able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, bend and stoop regularly.

Nice To Haves

X-ray or ARRT certification — top-of-range pay consideration.
2+ years MA experience in a clinical setting.
Orthopedic, multi-specialty, or personal injury experience.
Bilingual English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

Room patients, obtain histories, and record vital signs.
Prepare patients for exams and assist with procedures.
Administer injections and prepare medications per provider orders.
Educate patients on treatment plans and post-visit instructions.
Perform X-rays (training provided).
Fit patients for DME and provide usage instruction.
Manage medication inventory and comply with pharmacy procedures.
Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant records in NextGen EHR, completing them before the end of the shift.
Ensure clinical areas are stocked and organized.
