The Clinical Manager of the Lung Transplant Center is a key leader responsible for overseeing clinical operations, ensuring quality care, and driving program growth. A caregiver in this role provides strategic and operational leadership across perioperative and post-transplant care, ensuring seamless coordination, regulatory compliance, and high-quality patient outcomes. You will directly supervise a multidisciplinary team while serving as a key liaison between nursing, surgical, and medical leadership to drive excellence in heart transplant care. Requirements

  • BSN
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Five years of experience in organ procurement or transplantation
  • Managerial experience including hiring, orientation, scheduling and evaluation of employees in a clinical environment
  • Experience with quality management and quality improvement

  • Detailed knowledge of UNOS and OSOTC policies and program standards related to organ transplantation and allocation

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the nursing component of the organ transplant program.
  • Ensure continuing nursing job satisfaction and fulfillment through the implementation of appropriate coordinator responsibilities and workload, teamwork and staff morale.
  • Ensure patient safety and QA especially in the development of the Living Donor Program (kidney and liver only).
  • Establish QA metrics and foci for CQDirect managerial responsibility of the clinical nurse coordinators and matrix management responsibilities with the managers of the OR, ICUs and inpatient floors (adult and pediatrics).
