About The Position

Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a dynamic Clinical Manager to lead our innovative Homeless Services program. This multidisciplinary team includes therapists, case managers, peer specialists, and milieu staff who provide creative, flexible, and compassionate services to unhoused community members. The role involves overseeing both a drop-in center and community-based outreach services, ensuring high-quality clinical care and managing administrative duties such as grant reporting and regulatory compliance. AMHR is looking for a leader passionate about supporting the unhoused population and motivated to improve systems that have historically been inadequate. The ideal candidate will be energized by purpose-driven work, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the opportunity to shape a more equitable approach to care.

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in a license-eligible field.
  • Current Colorado licensure required: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Psychologist (PhD or PsyD).
  • Licensure from another state is acceptable if the candidate is in the process of obtaining Colorado licensure and will receive it within six months of hire.
  • Three years of experience working with the population served by the clinical area of responsibility, including administrative experience in a behavioral health setting.
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License with a driving record that meets organization's requirements.
  • Excellent knowledge of theoretical issues related to clinical treatment.
  • Treatment philosophy consistent with the organization's goals.
  • Excellent management and communication skills.
  • Trained and experienced in screening, assessment, and treatment of mental health and substance abuse concerns.
  • Required Vaccination and TB Test: Annual influenza (flu) shot and a negative TB test result before the first day of work. Proof must be provided on the first day of employment. Medical and religious exemptions can be requested.

Responsibilities

  • Lead employees, maintaining team focus and direction.
  • Hire, provide performance feedback and coaching, and fire employees in accordance with organization guidance.
  • Monitor work schedules and receive and approve requests for time off based on work volumes and staffing schedules.
  • Communicate with external stakeholders related to team accountability.
  • Cascade information from sr. leadership to lower levels in alignment with organization strategy and goals.
  • Design and implement effective group and intergroup work and communication expectations.
  • Define and monitor group-level performance indicators.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems within and among work groups.
  • Arrange appropriate training of staff to improve clinical skills, including providing clinical supervision to therapists, and other team members as appropriate.
  • Work cooperatively with all staff to provide a comprehensive range of services and ensure the smooth transition of clients from one service to another, including handling referrals and assignment of cases to therapists.
  • Handle complaints from clients and community agencies efficiently and satisfactorily.
  • Develop new services to meet unmet or underserved needs in the community.
  • Ensure that clinical and fiscal paperwork and online clinical records are correctly and promptly completed.
  • Interact with community agencies to improve services to clients and enhance the organization's image as a competent provider of mental health services and a committed and caring member of the community.
  • Advocate for the organization's services in the community and at the state level, as appropriate.
  • Ensure that revenues to pay for services are documented and billable by the business office and that the funding source is known to the billing office.
  • Understand and adhere to budget for program.
  • Complete needed care coordination tasks for their assigned role.
