Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee to join our team at our facility on RTP, NC. Work Schedule: Wednesday - Saturday, 12pm to 10:30pm. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Nice To Haves

3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
ASCP or AMT certification
Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Responsibilities

Follows the laboratory's procedure for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
Proficiently performs the principal functional responsibilities of the Technician job duties as necessary.
Verifies proper and consistent identification of specimens prior to and during all accessioning and processing steps.
Records initials on all paperwork to indicate work performed by individual.
Notifies Senior Technologist, Team Lead, Supervisor, Lab Manager or Lab Director of any identification discrepancies and documents action taken.
Operates Flow Cytometers, Slide stainer and CBC analyzer instruments in order to perform assigned duties.
Tests specimens completely, accurately and within established time frames.
Understands and follows established testing procedures.
Understands that all patient information is confidential and complies with HIPAA regulations.
