About The Position

NewYork-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist for the Blood Bank department. This full-time Night shift position offers the opportunity to gain unique experience in transfusion medicine, including rare antibody identification and immunohematology problems. The role involves performing laboratory procedures for preparing and dispensing blood and blood products, as well as maintaining inventory. The position is located in New York, New York, and requires on-site presence within a commutable distance.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology (or equivalent experience)
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education department
• Must obtain the License within 6 months of hire if pending a Clinical Laboratory Technologist License

Nice To Haves

• ASCP certification
• At least one year Blood Bank experience

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory procedures in preparing and dispensing blood and blood products as ordered by physicians.
• Maintain inventory of blood and blood products for patients in accordance with departmental guidelines.
