About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join their team at Ascension SE Wisconsin Hospital - Franklin in Franklin, Wisconsin. This role involves determining the acceptability of specimens for testing, performing routine and complex technical procedures, monitoring and troubleshooting instrumentation, and preparing, testing, and evaluating new reagents or controls. The technician will also be responsible for reporting accurate and timely test results, performing and documenting preventive maintenance and quality control, replenishing testing bench supplies, and assisting with specimen processing when needed. Maintaining a safe work environment and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment are also key responsibilities. This role operates in a high-volume, production-based environment and is a vital component of clinical lab science. A $10,000.00 sign-on bonus is offered for external candidates.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

• ASCP or AMT certification
• Non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Proficient with computers
• High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
