Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor – Regional Laboratories to provide leadership, mentorship, and operational oversight for our growing network of regional clinic laboratories. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced laboratory professional who is passionate about quality patient care, team development, and operational excellence. Whether you're an emerging leader or already have supervisory experience, this role offers the chance to expand your leadership skills while influencing laboratory services across three states. This role supports laboratory teams serving communities throughout Iowa (Calmar, Decorah, Lansing), Minnesota (Harmony, Houston, La Crescent, Spring Grove), and Wisconsin (Prairie du Chien, Tomah, Viroqua).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field
  • Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), or Medical Technologist (MT) through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification is required
  • 2-3 years of previous/current clinical laboratory experience including training and/or experience in non-waived testing is required
  • A passion for mentoring team members and driving operational excellence
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills

  • Previous supervisory, lead, or leadership experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Laboratory Manager to oversee daily operations across our regional outpatient clinic laboratories.
  • Play a key leadership role in ensuring exceptional patient service, regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead and support a team of Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLTs), Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLSs), and phlebotomy staff across multiple locations.
  • Oversee laboratory operations, including specimen collection, specimen processing, testing, and Point-of-Care (POC) services.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, quality control, and performance standards including CLIA, CAP, and Joint Commission as well as serving as the Lab Director providing directorship over multiple regional laboratories.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Support staff development through competency management, ongoing education, and professional growth opportunities.
  • Partner with leadership to ensure appropriate staffing, technology, equipment, and supply resources are available and effectively utilized.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance quality, reduce variation, and optimize operational performance.
  • Champion employee engagement initiatives and deliver an exceptional customer service experience for patients, providers, and staff.
