About The Position

Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor – Regional Laboratories to provide leadership, mentorship, and operational oversight for their growing network of regional clinic laboratories. This role supports laboratory teams serving communities throughout Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The supervisor will partner with the Laboratory Manager to oversee daily operations, ensuring exceptional patient service, regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, and operational efficiency. This is an opportunity for an experienced laboratory professional passionate about quality patient care, team development, and operational excellence to expand their leadership skills while influencing laboratory services across three states.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field
  • Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), or Medical Technologist (MT) through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification is required
  • 2-3 years of previous/current clinical laboratory experience including training and/or experience in non-waived testing is required
  • A passion for mentoring team members and driving operational excellence
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills

  • Previous supervisory, lead, or leadership experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Leading and supporting a team of Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLTs), Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLSs), and phlebotomy staff across multiple locations
  • Overseeing laboratory operations, including specimen collection, specimen processing, testing, and Point-of-Care (POC) services
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, quality control, and performance standards including CLIA, CAP, and Joint Commission as well as serving as the Lab Director providing directorship over multiple regional laboratories
  • Promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Supporting staff development through competency management, ongoing education, and professional growth opportunities
  • Partnering with leadership to ensure appropriate staffing, technology, equipment, and supply resources are available and effectively utilized
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, enhance quality, reduce variation, and optimize operational performance
  • Championing employee engagement initiatives and delivering an exceptional customer service experience for patients, providers, and staff
