About The Position
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) for an exciting Travel or Local job in Arcata, CA. This position involves performing routine and complex laboratory testing across multiple disciplines, including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, urinalysis, coagulation, and blood bank. The role requires analyzing, verifying, and reporting accurate test results, performing blood bank procedures, operating and maintaining laboratory instruments, and ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations. The CLS will collaborate with healthcare teams to support patient care and effectively manage workload during overnight shifts.
Requirements
- Current California CLS or MLS License required
- Strong CLS Generalist experience required
- Blood bank experience required
- TB clearance completed within the past 12 months required
- Ability to work independently during night shifts
- Strong critical thinking, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Nice To Haves
- Previous hospital laboratory experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and complex laboratory testing across multiple laboratory disciplines
- Conduct testing and analysis in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, urinalysis, coagulation, and blood bank
- Analyze, verify, and report accurate test results in a timely manner
- Perform blood bank procedures including compatibility testing and transfusion support
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment
- Perform quality control, calibrations, and routine maintenance according to laboratory standards
- Ensure compliance with laboratory policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and healthcare teams to support patient care
- Prioritize workload effectively during overnight shifts while maintaining accuracy and efficiency
- Document laboratory findings and maintain accurate patient records
