About The Position

This position may be required to perform tests in all areas of the Clinical Laboratory including, but not limited to: Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Urinalysis and limited Microbiology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; and one year training or equivalent combination of education and experience meeting state requirements.
  • CLSL-Licensed Clinical Lab Scientist.
  • Knowledge of laboratory test methods, specimen requirements, test limitations, and test interpretations sufficient to perform tests accurately and to recognize and analyze problems effectively.
  • Skill in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory instruments.
  • Skill in performing manual and automated test procedures.
  • Skill in computer keyboard data entry/retrieval.
  • Skill in the recognition and analysis of problems in laboratory test performance, calibration and QC.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with coworkers.
  • Skill in phlebotomy.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, and analysis of variance.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
