About The Position

Madera Community Hospital is a private, not-for-profit General Acute Care hospital serving residents throughout California's Central Valley. The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) collects, prepares, and analyzes specimens—including blood, urine, sputum, feces, exudates, secretions, and other body fluids—from patients across the age spectrum, from newborns through geriatric patients. The CLS follows prescribed procedures in Chemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, Immunohematology, and Hematology, calculates and reports results, and complies with laboratory and hospital policies and standards.

Requirements

• Requires 2–5 years of experience as a CLS Generalist.
• Current State of California Clinical Lab Scientist License.
• Bachelor of Science degree.
• Ability to handle medical specimens and conform to Universal Infection Control procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and supervisors, nursing staff, and medical staff.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in clinical chemistry, immuno assay, quality control, Unity Lab, and validation/verification protocols.

Responsibilities

• Collect, prepare, and analyze patient specimens, including blood, urine, sputum, feces, exudates, secretions, and other body fluids.
• Perform specimen analysis according to prescribed procedures in Chemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, Immunohematology, and Hematology.
• Calculate and report results in accordance with laboratory and hospital policies and standards.
• Handle medical specimens and follow Universal Infection Control procedures.
• Communicate effectively with staff and supervisors, nursing staff, and medical staff.
