About The Position

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist I is a Licensed Medical Technologist whose primary responsibility is to perform laboratory testing on patients samples. In this capacity, the CLS performs the preanalytical, analytical testing phases and post analytical and is responsible for quality control, equipment maintenance and all reporting and documentation. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science or Clinical Laboratory Science.
  • American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with computer.
  • Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position.
  • Operate/troubleshoot basic equipment required for the position.
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Clinical Lab Scientist-CA (CLS); Limited Licensed CLS may be accepted in lieu of a General CLS. Either must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
