Requirements

High school diploma
BLS certification
Phlebotomy training
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Required
Minimum Work Experience: 3 years or more of lab related experience to include 3 months practicum gained in clinical, hospital or lab setting prefer for waived testing experience.

Nice To Haves

2 years of College or an Associate Degree is Preferred

Responsibilities

Ability to perform phlebotomy duties as required, to include venipuncture and capillary techniques, using standard equipment such as vacutainer tubes and sleeves, tourniquets, syringes and butterfly needles.
Assure that requisition includes patient demographics and accurate required billing information.
Ability to transcribe physician orders
Facilitate the unobserved collection of urine specimens.
Interact directly with patients to obtain information for laboratory records, explain procedures, allay fears, and elicit cooperation.
Ability to process, label, and store specimen samples for subsequent analysis.
Perform and document various quality control procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations.
