About The Position

Performs tests to analyze patient specimens according to section specific policy and procedure. Interprets data to prepare a patient laboratory report. Communicates test results to health care affiliates. Maintains biomedical equipment. Performs QC/QA to ensure quality test results. Identifies and resolves problems that arise. Assists Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLS or MT) by testing samples to validate or correlate instruments, assays and reagent lots. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree of Science in Biology or Chemistry, or a Bachelor’s Degree of Science with a minimum of 60 semester hours including either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses (6 hours of chemistry; 6 hours of biology, and 12 hours in chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology, or any combination).
  • MT(ASCP)

  • On-the-job-training to attain Technologist level (formalized training program must be achieved to be eligible to apply to a Medical Technologist 1 position).
