About The Position

Seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Technologist with strong Blood Bank experience to support transfusion medicine services in a hospital-based laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in blood typing, compatibility testing, transfusion support, and laboratory quality standards.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Clinical Laboratory Technologist experience in Blood Bank
• Blood bank experience required
• Strong knowledge of blood typing and compatibility testing
• Strong knowledge of transfusion medicine
• Strong knowledge of laboratory quality control procedures
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced laboratory environment
• Active New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License (092) required
• Primary Source Verification required

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform blood bank testing and laboratory procedures per established protocols
• Conduct blood typing, crossmatching, antibody screening, and compatibility testing
• Prepare and process blood products for transfusion services
• Maintain accuracy in specimen handling, testing, and documentation
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, quality control, and regulatory standards
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment
• Review and verify laboratory results prior to reporting
• Collaborate with physicians and clinical teams regarding transfusion-related services
• Maintain accurate patient and laboratory records
