As a Clinical Laboratory Technician in our HLA Laboratory, you'll perform high-quality laboratory testing on biological specimens that supports organ, tissue, and stem cell transplantation. Working alongside a team of dedicated laboratory professionals, you'll help ensure accurate, timely test results while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related scientific discipline required.
  • Must meet CLIA requirements for high-complexity testing.
  • State laboratory license, when required by applicable regulations.
  • No prior professional laboratory experience required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform laboratory procedures accurately and consistently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory quality systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with laboratory information systems.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data integrity.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or internship in clinical laboratory science or immunology is preferred.
  • Experience working in a clinical, molecular diagnostics, immunology, transplant, or histocompatibility laboratory is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine testing of biological specimens in the HLA laboratory following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Prepare and prequalify laboratory reagents used in testing procedures.
  • Perform donor and patient testing while ensuring accurate and timely results.
  • Prepare blood products and components, including irradiation and pooling procedures, as applicable.
  • Participate in blood product inventory management and product issuing activities.
  • Maintain complete, accurate laboratory records while protecting donor, patient, and employee confidentiality.
  • Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and quality control of laboratory equipment.
  • Identify equipment malfunctions and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Monitor laboratory inventory levels and communicate supply needs.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement and process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with laboratory team members to support operational excellence and exceptional customer service.
  • Perform all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and applicable regulatory requirements, including CLIA, CAP, FDA, AABB, state regulations, and accreditation standards.
