About The Position

UW Medicine Primary Care at Belltown has an outstanding opportunity for a Clinical Laboratory Technician / Phlebotomist! This is a full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week) position, Monday - Friday, Day Shift. Ideally located for those living or working near downtown Seattle, UW Medicine Primary Care at Belltown offers appointments six days a week, including evenings and same-day appointments. Medical advice is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This position is conveniently located near public transportation and offers an opportunity to make a difference for the patients and employees we serve, with potential for career growth.

Requirements

Able to be certified as a Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist with the Washington State Department of Health within 90 days of hire.
High School / GED
Minimum one-year relevant experience or training in a clinical laboratory or medical setting (for CLT2)

Responsibilities

Performs routine and stat laboratory tests utilizing automated or semi-automated equipment, kit assays, and microscopic evaluations.
Understands, operates, maintains, and troubleshoots applicable equipment and testing methods.
Performs work accurately and precisely, organizing workload to meet service demands calmly, efficiently, and without direct supervision.
Performs quality control analyses on all tests assigned and determines whether all parameters are within established ranges.
Participates in training and demonstrating routine laboratory techniques to new employees in coordination with the CLT Lead.
May send out letters to patients, as delegated by clinic leadership, with lab results or overdue reminder letters for appointments.
