About The Position

Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Analyst The Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Analyst supports and maintains the Clinical Laboratories’ information systems, including Epic Beaker, interfaced lab systems, middleware, and in‑house applications. This role ensures accurate test builds, reliable instrument interfaces, regulatory compliance, and smooth workflow integration across clinical pathology, anatomic pathology, and phlebotomy. The LIS Analyst collaborates closely with laboratory staff, leadership, and IT teams to troubleshoot issues, implement upgrades, optimize processes, and support end users. Strong analytical skills, technical expertise, and effective communication are essential. Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4pm, with a rotating call schedule for week nights and weekends.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • Two years of experience in the following areas: Laboratory Information System and Middle Ware administration (Beaker, Data Innovations) preferred.
  • CP Beaker certified (certification must be obtained 6 months from date of hire if not currently certified)

Nice To Haves

  • MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of laboratory operations, instrument interfacing, and lab billing preferred.
  • AP Beaker certified if primary work is other than preferred.
  • Bridges Interface certified preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain LIS applications, interfaces, and instrument connectivity.
  • Build and manage test codes, LOINC mapping, CPT billing setup, result files, and related tables.
  • Monitor system performance, ensure data integrity, and maintain security compliance.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, workflows, and change‑control processes.
  • Participate in system upgrades, new module implementations, and integration projects.
  • Troubleshoot complex application and interface issues; coordinate with vendors as needed.
  • Conduct validation testing for system changes, new builds, and integrated workflows.
  • Provide end‑user support, training, and consultation on LIS functionality.
  • Analyze laboratory workflows to identify optimization opportunities and support process improvements.
  • Assist with reporting needs, fee schedule development, and billing issue resolution.
  • Participate in on‑call rotation and maintain accurate issue tracking.
