About The Position
The Clinical Lab Scientist provides laboratory testing services, including obtaining and processing specimens, performing tests, preparing specimens for transportation, providing laboratory reports, participating in quality control and quality assurance programs, and maintaining laboratory equipment. Clinical Laboratory Scientists at all levels are expected to demonstrate good judgment and technical skill. The position requires the ability to work independently and perform routine and advanced laboratory procedures with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- Clinical Laboratory Scientist license upon hire.
- Knowledge of phlebotomy, specimen handling, and specimen processing.
- Experience with laboratory information systems.
- Expert knowledge and ability to perform in all assigned technical areas of the laboratory.
- Basic knowledge of operating and troubleshooting essential laboratory and office equipment.
- Ability to work independently and perform routine and advanced laboratory procedures with minimal supervision.
- Ability to demonstrate good judgment and technical skill.
Nice To Haves
- One year of continuous experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
- For candidates without Clinical Laboratory Scientist experience, prior clinical laboratory or healthcare experience and three years with Palo Alto Medical Foundation are preferred. Equivalency is determined by the Laboratory Director and Personnel office staff.
