Requirements

• Associate's degree with MLT (ASCP/AMT), HT (ASCP/AMT), or the equivalent in education and clinical lab experience OR a Bachelor’s degree from a four (4) year MT or HTL program approved a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent or eligible.
• Must meet the minimum requirements of the Clinical Laboratory Act of 1988.
• 3 years of experience as MT/MLS/CLS/HTL; or 5 years as MLT/HT
• (Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Registered or eligible for registry as MLT or HT, or MT (ASCP/AMT) or HTL (ASCP/AMT) or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Provides technical leadership and expertise.
• Maintains quality control, calibration functions and correlations.
• Coordinates, plans, organizes and monitors the work of the department.
• Ensures all competencies and training are completed.
• Under the direction of manager or supervisors works on special projects.
• Performs inventory control functions.
• Consistently completes testing within established time frames.
• Recognize and address issues within the department.
