About The Position

We are seeking a Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) - Hematology to join IQVIA Laboratories in Valencia, CA. This role involves providing professional and technical expertise to perform routine and specialized hematology testing that supports clinical trial laboratory operations. The position ensures accurate, timely, and compliant laboratory testing and reporting, operating within the scope of a valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience in a regulated lab environment
  • Valid California State Clinical Laboratory License to perform laboratory testing required
  • Working knowledge of Good Clinical Laboratory Practices (GCLP), CLIA requirements, and other applicable regulatory standards
  • Proficiency with hematology laboratory testing procedures, quality control processes, and laboratory instrumentation
  • Ability to troubleshoot laboratory equipment and perform complex laboratory calculations and quality metrics analysis
  • Strong technical knowledge of clinical laboratory testing principles, methodologies, and science supporting analysis
  • Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to build effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety, infection control procedures, and hazardous chemical handling practices

Responsibilities

  • Perform and report automated and manual hematology testing with minimal supervision
  • Verify quality control results and release laboratory results in accordance with licensing and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor laboratory inventory, prepare reagents, and maintain equipment and supplies required for daily operations
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and communicate testing irregularities that may impact result accuracy
  • Participate in assay validations, process improvements, and implementation of new testing methodologies
  • Maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, GCLP, safety, quality, and company standards
  • Support internal and external audits, inspections, and continuing education initiatives
  • Assist with laboratory training activities and special projects as assigned
