About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee to join our team in Dublin, OH. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday with rotating weekends, 3:00pm to 11:30pm and rotating every other weekend. This role involves determining the acceptability of specimens for testing, performing routine and complex technical procedures, monitoring and troubleshooting instrumentation, preparing and testing new reagents, reporting accurate test results, performing preventative maintenance and quality control, replenishing testing bench supplies, and assisting with specimen processing. The position also requires maintaining a safe work environment and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. New Grads are welcome as full training is provided. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
  • Non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements
  • Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
  • High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Nice To Haves

  • 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
  • ASCP or AMT certification

Responsibilities

  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
  • Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
