Under general supervision of the Pathology Supervisor, this role performs various duties to centralize the receipt, recording, and distribution of specimens within laboratories. The position assists in recording, verifying, and communicating test results, maintains detailed related records, and logs specimens received onto department microcomputers. The Clinical Lab Control Clerk also answers the central telephone line for clinical laboratories, responds to general and specific information requests, and resolves problems within their scope of authority or refers them as appropriate after obtaining sufficient background information.
