About The Position

OmniSeq by Labcorp is looking for a Clinical Lab Associate to join our team in Buffalo, NY . Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 - 5:00 The Clinical Lab Associate receives clinical and research testing material in the laboratory; accessions and routes testing material to appropriate areas; requests samples from laboratories and performs timely follow up; tracks materials sent to and received from referral laboratories; assists with quality assurance activities; inventory management. Pay Range: 21.00-25.00 All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Knowledge of medical/laboratory terminology.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in a healthcare discipline
  • 1or more years of experience in a clinical/research setting

Responsibilities

  • Receives and accessions laboratory testing material within various laboratory information management system(s) utilizing appropriate blood/body fluid precautions
  • Stores laboratory samples maintaining the integrity of the physical/electronic inventory
  • Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages
  • Obtains required release of information signatures from patients to obtain laboratory materials when required
  • Packages laboratory material for delivery to referral testing laboratories in accordance with regulatory and HIPAA requirements
  • Packages diagnostic specimens for return in accordance with regulatory and HIPAA requirements
  • Assists in ordering, receiving, storing, distributing, and controlling laboratory supply inventories
  • Maintains files and stores relevant laboratory documentation in accordance with regulatory standards for required storage periods.
  • Participates in laboratory quality assurance activities
  • Enhances professional growth and development by participating in educational programs, reading current literature and participating in in-service meetings and workshops.
  • Attends meetings as required
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
