Clinical Lab Assistant - Part-Time
About The Position
Vancouver Clinic is seeking a part-time Laboratory Assistant to support its busy Clinical Lab. This role involves processing routine and STAT testing, accessioning specimens, labeling and delivering slides, filing and retrieving slides/blocks, monitoring temperatures, and supporting accurate report archival. The position also requires providing excellent service to patients, providers, and medical staff through proper patient identification, accurate specimen labeling, timely data entry, scanning, and faxing. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, flexible, and capable of prioritizing specimens in a fast-paced lab environment. Responsibilities may extend to performing CLIA waived and moderate complexity testing, troubleshooting workflow issues, adhering to clinic and laboratory policies, and collaborating with the lab team to meet patient care needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of two years’ experience working in a healthcare, laboratory, and/or combination of education and experience in phlebotomy/lab sciences preferred
- Ability to work, with or without reasonable accommodation, with a diverse population of patients and colleagues seeking or considering care in all areas
