About The Position

This position supports research studies in the Division of Sleep and Circadian Disorders at The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. The role involves instructing subjects on study devices, obtaining informed consent, collecting and analyzing research data, preparing regulatory documentation, maintaining databases, training students, and troubleshooting data collection devices. The work is primarily evening shifts but may include combinations of day/evening/night/weekend/holiday shifts. This role does not require direct patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study.
  • 0-1 year of research-related experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Analytical skills and the ability to resolve technical or research problems and issues and to interpret the acceptability of data results.
  • Knowledge of research protocols.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism and respect for subjects' rights and individual needs.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and work cooperatively with peers.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates and maintains contact with study participants.
  • Interacts with patients/subjects regarding the study.
  • Coordinates in-lab visits.
  • Performs specialized equipment calibration.
  • Supports and executes measurements of study parameters on human subjects using specific equipment and assays during in-laboratory, outpatient, or field portions of research protocols.
  • Prepares and maintains regulatory documentation for the group, including IRB applications, amendments, and continuing reviews, and study standards of practice.
  • Audits and maintains REDCap questionnaires and surveys, eConsents, and databases in collaboration with the PI or post-doc.
  • Trains and schedules students.
  • Uses and troubleshoots specialized data collection devices.
