About The Position

The Clinical Intern provides supervised clinical support within their market or dedicated region. The intern facilitates psychoeducation groups and skills‑based interventions, assists with reviewing event reports, collects and analyzes program data, completes clinical documentation and assessments, and participates in interdisciplinary meetings to support coordinated, person‑centered care. This role is designed to build core competencies in a residential behavioral health practice while contributing to the daily functioning and therapeutic environment.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, studying social work, counseling, psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field.
Must be authorized by applicable state, federal, and local entities to work within BSLS programs.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Responsible for maintaining all mandatory training and certification requirements.
Must pass criminal background checks, central registry check (in applicable states) and child abuse registry (in applicable states).
Must complete and pass a drug test, in applicable states.
Must possess a valid Driver’s License and have reliable transportation.
Proficient in speaking, reading and writing the English language.
Approved by state, federal and government entities to work within BSLS programs.
Ability to use office equipment, including BSLS information technology systems.
Must be able to communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team.
Strong computer skills utilizing various software programs and applications.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to create professional employee communication materials.
Works well independently.
Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to multitask and meet project deadlines.
Capable of working well with all levels of the organization.
A professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

Participate in weekly supervision to build clinical skills, reflect on practice, and integrate feedback.
Maintain regular, open, and consistent communication across clinical teams and with other departments.
Assist in developing and implementing individualized crisis stabilization plans and provide direct crisis intervention and risk assessments when required.
Attend program and team meetings, trainings, and supervisory sessions as required.
Performs ongoing reviews and audits of clinical charts to verify compliance with documentation standards, clinical best practices, and federal billing requirements.
Complete timely, accurate notes, group logs, assessments, and other required clinical records in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
Support and maintain positive working relationships with external agencies and providers to ensure optimal outcomes for the individuals served.

Maintain and sustain a safe community environment and workplace.
Follow Beacon's policies, procedures, and manuals.

Review incident/event reports, identify patterns or risk factors, and elevate concerns to supervisors.
