About The Position

This internship position is for students enrolled in a degree program that will grant them credit hours for their internship. Applicants must be first or second-year students in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling programs. The internship offers flexible hours within Monday-Friday, 8 am-6 pm, and provides opportunities to participate in various clinical modalities and gain experience in behavioral health documentation. The role involves facilitating groups, conducting counseling sessions, performing intakes and assessments, managing a caseload appropriate for the student's level, and completing all required documentation.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a degree program that will grant credit hours for internship.
  • Must be a first or second-year Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling student.
  • Strong organization skills with accurate attention to detail.
  • Sufficient skills to communicate effectively with both clients and staff.
  • Must be capable to sit or stand in front of a computer for long-periods of time.
  • Able to work in open space floor plan.
  • Must be capable to move throughout work day.
  • Work alongside co-workers within 3 feet.
  • Must be able to move in tight spaces.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Previous behavioral health or clinical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate/assist in Psycho-educational, rehabilitation, and recovery groups.
  • Facilitate/assist in counseling groups and individual counseling sessions.
  • Conduct intakes and complete Psychosocial and other assessments.
  • Responsible for caseload appropriate for the student’s experience level and education level.
  • Responsible for all required documentation associated with caseload (i.e., monthly summary notes, individual session notes, Individual Recovery Plans with program participants, required assessments, etc.).
  • Participate in treatment planning, as well as transferring and closing client files.
