Clinical Intake Specialist
About The Position
Berks Counseling Center is a recovery-oriented behavioral health, physical health, and supportive services organization providing a holistic approach to a culturally and economically diverse population for the purpose of achieving a healthy and productive lifestyle. As a Clinical Intake Specialist, you will be responsible for completing a comprehensive clinical assessment on potential clients seeking admission to Berks Counseling Center as part of our Open Admission process. This will include completion of supporting documentation, orienting the client to services, and setting up the electronic health record.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, social work, or related area.
- One (1) year documented work experience in a behavioral health setting.
- Ability to get PCB Certification within one year.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week within agency hours of operation, which are 8am-8pm Mon-Thurs, 8am-4pm Friday with Saturday hours, when applicable.

Responsibilities
- Serve as an active member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
- Conduct face to face clinical behavioral health assessments on individuals seeking services at Berks Counseling Center as part of BCC’s multidisciplinary admissions team.
- Determine an appropriate level of care for each client based on established guidelines.
- Assign clients to an appropriate clinician based on their needs.
- Utilize collaborative documentation to complete an intake note and comprehensive clinical assessment that meets compliance standards, medical necessity guidelines, and agency standards as to timeliness and accuracy of documentation.
