About The Position

Laitinen Academy is seeking a Clinical Instructor to provide training for Substance Abuse Counselor in Training (SAC-IT), Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC), and healthcare elective courses. The role requires a blend of clinical knowledge and teaching abilities to mentor future professionals. This position is part-time, averaging 7-10 hours per week, with flexible work-from-home options available.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
• Current SAC licensure or equivalent credential.
• Experience in clinical practice, particularly in substance abuse counseling.
• Proficiency in managing both state-approved and internal curriculum for SAC-IT, SAC, and healthcare electives.
• Skilled in using modern educational technology and software (Microsoft, Google etc).
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement state-approved SAC-IT and SAC curriculum, as well as Laitinen Academy's internal curriculum for counseling training and healthcare electives, ensuring compliance, engagement, and effectiveness.
• Conduct classes, workshops, and training sessions using diverse teaching strategies to cater to various learning styles.
• Evaluate student performance, providing personalized feedback and support for academic and professional growth.
• Guide students through the state credentialing application process, clarifying requirements and offering support.
• Utilize educational technology and software for curriculum delivery, student engagement, and administrative tasks.
• Stay updated on trends in substance abuse counseling and healthcare education, contributing to program improvement.
• Participate in enhancing Laitinen Academy's internal curricula for counseling and healthcare electives.
• Develop training programs and curriculum for groups, individuals, and family sessions, focusing on substance abuse counseling needs.
