About The Position

Laitinen Academy is seeking a Clinical Instructor to provide training for Substance Abuse Counselor in Training (SAC-IT), Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC), and healthcare elective courses. This role requires a blend of clinical knowledge and teaching ability to mentor and shape aspiring professionals. The position involves an average of 7-10 hours per week.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
• Current SAC licensure or equivalent credential.
• Experience in clinical practice, particularly in substance abuse counseling.
• Proficiency in managing both state-approved and internal curriculum for SAC-IT, SAC, and healthcare electives.
• Skilled in using modern educational technology and software (Microsoft, Google etc).
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement the state-approved SAC-IT and SAC curriculum, as well as Laitinen Academy's internal curriculum for counseling training and healthcare electives, ensuring compliance, engagement, and effectiveness.
• Conduct classes, workshops, and training sessions using varied teaching strategies to cater to different learning styles.
• Assess student performance, offering individualized feedback and support for academic and professional growth.
• Assist students with the state credentialing application process, explaining requirements and offering support.
• Employ educational technology and software for curriculum delivery, student interaction, and administrative tasks.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends in substance abuse counseling and healthcare education, contributing to program improvement.
• Participate in the enhancement of Laitinen Academy's internal curricula for counseling and healthcare electives.
• Develop training programs and curricula for group, individual, and family sessions, adapted to learner needs and substance abuse counseling specifics.
