About The Position

The Clinic Instructor is responsible for working with the Clinic Director to provide quality clinical services. This position supervises the delivery of speech pathology services primarily via telehealth and potentially on campus as needed. The role requires a Master's degree or equivalent in speech-language pathology, at least 3 years of clinical experience, and strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and mediation skills. A personal commitment to the Christian faith and support for the mission of Calvin University are essential. The position also requires familiarity with telehealth service delivery, virtual platform technology, and electronic medical records.

Requirements

Master’s degree or equivalent in speech-language pathology
At least 3 years of clinical experience in speech-language pathology
Thorough academic and clinical knowledge of speech-language pathology
Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal and mediation skills
Familiarity with telehealth service delivery, virtual platform technology, and electronic medical records
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology (CCC-SLP)
Michigan licensure
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to interact with all members of the university community
Proofreading and checking documents for accuracy
Using a keyboard to enter, retrieve or transform data
Closely examining clinical clients and management of therapeutic materials

Maintain at least 10 continuing education units in clinical supervision and related areas per year.

Responsibilities

Assist students with providing diagnostic and therapeutic services for the clinic.
Help to maintain a pool of clients for the on-campus clinic.
Conduct evaluations and develop interventions for clinic clients.
Document client and student progress.
Provide family counseling.
Mentor students for the practicum experiences.
Maintain Continuing Education on topics relevant to clinic instruction and clinical services provided.
Write daily progress reports and semester evaluations for students.
Meet at least weekly with students to discuss progress.
Liaison and coordinate services with outside agencies.
Ensure clinical practices meet all HIPPA and OSHA standards.
Participate in collection of program assessment data.
