About The Position

Reporting to the Site Manager, this position is responsible for managing the day to day clinic operations of practices within a department. This position serves as the clinical point person for physicians, staff and patients. This position participates in new hire recruitment and oversees office specific orientation for clinical staff. This position is responsible for staffing to ensure the clinics needs are met. This position contributes to performance management by providing clinical performance feedback to the Site Manager for all clinical staff. This position serves as the liaison between providers and staff and members of administration.

  • 3-5 years’ experience office environment, preferably in the medical field
  • 0-2 years’ experience in clinic-based nursing
  • Two years’ experience or training in office procedures in a medical environment
  • Must possess a license to practice as Registered Nurse (preferred) in the State of Tennessee
  • CPR/AED-(BLS) certification
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationship with patients, medical staff, and the public
  • Knowledge of the principles and skills needed for nursing to provide limited patient care and treatment

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a clinical point of contact for physicians and staff
  • Receives and appropriately and timely responds to patient issues and/or concerns
  • Participates in the recruitment process for clinical staff by participating in the interview process and providing candidate feedback to the Site Manager
  • Facilitates new hire training upon completion of general onboarding
  • Supervises scheduling of clinical staff and manages daily staffing needs, including call outs and may fill in during absences or times of great need
  • Accurately maintains time and attendance records of clinical staff, keeping overtime usage to a minimum
  • Ensures established clinical workflows are followed to ensure a quality patient experience
  • Participates in the creation of new clinical workflows, serving as a subject matter expert and assists with local implementation
  • Provides feedback to supervisor at clinical staff’s 90 days and during the annual review period and as needed, for performance improvement or corrective action plans
  • Leads clinical staff huddles and contributes, upon request from the Site Manager, during staff meetings
  • Leads by example by complying with all established HMA policies and procedures
  • Ensures clinical supply and equipment inventory are maintained for the department practice(s)
  • Attends required leadership development/training
  • May be in a dedicated staff role, dependent on the number of practices supported by position
