About The Position

The Clinical Informatics Specialist serves as a liaison between clinicians, ancillary departments, and Information Technology (IT), aligning clinical and IT standards with department workflows, processes, and policies. The role contributes to the organization’s clinical transformation by leading projects and programs, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and workflows, and participating in clinical governance councils. The specialist acts as a change agent for hospital leaders and clinicians to promote adoption of new processes and technologies, and serves as a clinical leader on technology advancement projects that affect clinical workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Current Alabama or Multistate nursing license.
• Attention to detail.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to apply expertise to problems and increase operational efficiency with systems.
• Knowledge of operational healthcare hospital and clinic workflows.
• Ability to work effectively with leaders at all levels of an organization.
• Advanced computer skills.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables.

• Five years of nursing experience.
