About The Position

This is a Term Part/Full Time Position (0.8FTE/1.0 FTE Availability) from June 15, 2026 to September 10, 2027. The position is at the L08 level with an hourly pay range of $41.30 to $52.25. Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Informatics, the incumbent is responsible for collecting, assessing, and analyzing user requirements, departmental and/or hospital work flow, and supports process re-design by using a variety of methodical processes and education to ensure systems meet the needs of the clinicians and organization to deliver excellent quality care. In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, the Clinical Informatics Specialist evaluates, plans, implements, tests, maintains, and supports complex, integrated information systems which support clinical and health information needs throughout Yukon Hospital Corporation.

Requirements

Strong knowledge of current MEDITECH computer applications and processes
Strong knowledge of other HCIS applications relevant to the YHC
Good knowledge of multi-discipline, multi-site, and cross-departmental systems/applications and processes
Knowledge of established and evidence based best practices and procedures of nursing care
Knowledge of clinical informatics principles
Knowledge of trends and developments in the nursing field
Knowledge of LEAN Principles and process/workflow mapping
Ability to work effectively and interact with all levels of the organization including physicians, management, expert users, and frontline staff, as well as external vendors
Ability to act as an advocate and be respectfully assertive
Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with staff, consultants, vendors, and external stakeholders
Ability to effectively work independently and in teams to meet deadlines
Ability to understand and analyze complex information and problem solve

Demonstrated success in supporting clinicians and healthcare staff in the use of electronic clinical applications

Clinical informatics experience or five (5) years clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting using informatics systems
Degree, diploma, certificate in Health Care and/or Computer Systems
Education/training in Clinical Informatics
Health care experience in an acute care setting required
An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered
Additional education in the clinical specialty of informatics/supplemented courses in computer software technology
Experience with Healthcare Information System preferably with MEDITECH systems - exposure to the key applications of the MEDITECH health care information systems: Administrative and Clinical is desired
