The Clinical Informatics Manager leads an informatics team that is responsible for the maintenance and support of SEARHC’s electronic health record (EHR) and related systems. This position works collaboratively with clinical staff, EHR trainers, informatics, Revenue Cycle and other key stakeholders to leverage the EHR and related systems to increase efficiency and improve patient care across the continuum of care – inpatient, outpatient, emergency, behavioral health, long-term care – and throughout the consortium. Serves as a primary liaison with Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) which manages a state-wide shared Cerner domain that serves as SEAHRC’s EHR platform. The clinical informatics manager must be an experienced healthcare information systems professional with the relationship building and analytical skills to navigate the needs and complexities of SEARHC’s diverse, geographically dispersed clinical practice using a state-wide shared EHR domain. Collaborate with team to implement, optimize, support and maintain EHR and related systems, enhancing and developing new EHR functionality and solutions in support of clinical processes and procedures. Provides leadership, direction and day-to-day management for the clinical informatics team. Evaluates and prioritizes implementation of changes requested for the system. Develops goals and priorities in conjunction with team and assigns tasks and projects. Provides EHR subject matter expertise as part of multi-disciplinary team projects, serving as a bridge between end users and technical staff and understanding how workflow decisions translate to application configurations. Software and workflow related troubleshooting in collaboration with technical personnel as needed. May be required to participate in an on-call rotation for night and weekend support of SEARHC clinical applications. Ensure that end user problem requests are resolved and/or assigned to appropriate staff in a timely fashion. Assesses implementation strategies and the impact those strategies will have on workflows and operations. Ensures development and documentation of internal procedures that will be used in conjunction with the clinical applications. Works closely with EHR training team on development and maintenance of training content that reflects system changes and enhancements. Tracks and monitors software support calls and requests. Monitors nature of requests for patterns suggesting need for system changes, training enhancements or other strategies to improve end user effectiveness. Serve as a SEARHC liaison with other Tribal Health Organizations. Collaborating with peers to identify and assist with activities which enhance the overall design and function of the state-wide, shared EHR domain. Participates in scoping and evaluation of new software purchases for clinical applications and ensures that applications purchased by the organization support the strategic plan. Coaches team members and support individual team member development. Perform other duties as assigned.
