Information Technology - Clinical Informatics Analyst
About The Position
Marana Health is seeking a Clinical Informatics Analyst to join our Information Technology team at the Marana Main Health Center, located in the heart of Marana, AZ. The Clinical Informatics Analyst serves as the liaison between clinical operations, Information Technology, and organizational leadership to optimize the effective use of the electronic health record (EHR) and other clinical applications across Marana Health. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Informatics and Applications, this position partners with providers, clinical staff, and operational leaders to analyze workflows, coordinate system implementations, improve user adoption, and support continuous workflow optimization. The Clinical Informatics Analyst evaluates clinical and operational workflows, documents business requirements, coordinates testing and implementation activities, develops training materials, and provides ongoing provider support. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, the Analyst supports enterprise initiatives while serving as the frontline resource for clinical application optimization across all Marana Health locations. Marana Health is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 11 sites in Tucson and Pima County. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Informatics, Nursing, Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
- Two (2) years of healthcare operations, clinical informatics, EHR optimization, workflow improvement, or healthcare technology experience.
- Experience supporting ambulatory clinical workflows.
- Strong understanding of healthcare operations and clinical processes.
- Experience participating in EHR implementations or optimization projects.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety
- Current Arizona driver’s license with clean driving record and proof of current vehicle insurance (39-month MVR will be run by MH)
Nice To Haves
- Master's degree
- Experience with AthenaOne or another ambulatory EHR.
- Clinical background (RN, MA, LPN, RT, etc.).
- Experience in an FQHC or ambulatory care environment.
- Lean/process improvement experience.
- Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- An equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may be considered when it provides the knowledge and skills required to perform the essential functions of the position.
Responsibilities
- Analyze clinical and operational workflows to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, provider satisfaction, patient access, quality of care, regulatory compliance, and operational performance.
- Observe, document, and recommend workflow improvements that support standardized clinical workflows and evidence-based best practices.
- Serve as the primary Clinical Informatics liaison for assigned departments by gathering business requirements, supporting EHR optimization, coordinating system enhancements, validating configuration changes, and assisting with issue resolution.
- Coordinate assigned clinical informatics projects by supporting planning, testing, implementation, go-live activities, and post-implementation optimization.
- Develop and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT), workflow validation, and regression testing while documenting testing results and production readiness.
- Develop training materials, workflow documentation, standard operating procedures, and tip sheets, and provide classroom, virtual, one-on-one, and at-the-elbow education to providers and clinical staff.
- Monitor provider adoption, workflow effectiveness, and operational performance, and provide data-driven recommendations to the Director of Clinical Informatics and Applications.
- Develop operational reports and dashboards to support clinical, operational, quality, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Build collaborative relationships with providers, operational leaders, Information Technology, and multidisciplinary teams while participating in committees, workgroups, and assigned organizational initiatives.
- Monitor emerging healthcare technologies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices to support continuous improvement and innovation.
- Provide cross-coverage for fellow Clinical Informatics Analysts and support enterprise-wide initiatives as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental and organizational objectives.
